Morning by Morning, June 9 - In “the Presence of His Glory with Great Joy!”
Good morning, Lord Jesus. Be high and lifted up, here in my heart and every moment of my day. ...
“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the Presence of His glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen
(Jude 1:24-25 ESV).
Only You can keep me from stumbling. Only You can present me blameless before You, faultless before Your throne. Only You can fill my heart with that “great joy” that only comes from experiencing the glory of Your manifest Presence. But that’s Your heart for me and for all who turn to You and embrace the grace You have for every one of us.
You invite us, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8). You promise us, “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up” (James 4:10 NKJV).
If we’ll let You, You’ll put Your thoughts in our minds and Your desires in our hearts -- all by the power of Your grace at work within us. “For God is working in (us), giving (us) the desire and the power to do what pleases Him” (Philippians 2:13 NLT). And it pleases You to fill us “with great joy.”
As You said to Your first disciples, You still speak to each of today: “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full” (John 15:11 NKJV). That kind of great joy comes only from the intimacy of Your Presence. But once we allow You to lift us up and hold us tight, blameless and faultless before Your throne by the grace of Your love, we know in our hearts what’s overflowing from our lives, that “In Your Presence there is fullness of joy!” (Psalm 16:11) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
