Morning by Morning, September 14 - The Blessing of Spiritual Pursuit Good morning, Lord Jesus. Take me by the hand and lead me by the heart on my journey with You today -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. ... “I will give you the treasures of darkness and riches hidden in secret places, so that you may know that it is I, the Lord, the God of Israel, who call you by your name” (Isaiah 45:3). There are treasures You’ve hidden, nuggets of gold tucked away in secret places. And some of those treasures are revelations of Your Word You’ve reserved for those who dig deeply with hungry hearts. Some of those golden nuggets are encounters with the abundance of Your goodness and deep experiences of Your Presence set apart for those who pursue You like treasure and esteem You as gold. You said, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled” (Matthew 5:6). You spoke of the blessing of spiritual pursuit when You expressed Your parables, as when You said, “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and reburied; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field” (Matthew 13:44). You are the Hidden Treasure. You are the Righteousness of God that our spirits long to embrace even when our minds and our flesh don’t understand. You are the Goal of the Prize More Precious Than Gold worth pursuing at all costs. So I thank You for putting this spiritual hunger in me. I thank You for setting this blessing of spiritual pursuit before me. And I thank You for the Promise of Your Word for all who passionately, faithfully pursue You: “When you search for Me, you will find Me; if you seek Me with all your heart, I will let you find Me, says the Lord” (Jeremiah 29:13-14). With all my heart, I seek You and search for You and pursue You today. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
