Morning by Morning, September 23 - Fiery Eyes, Full of Light, Glory, and Love Good morning, Lord Jesus. Your Word says Your eyes search the earth looking for those whose hearts are truly Yours (1 Chronicles 16:19). I pray Your eyes see a true heart in me. ... Our eyes reveal our heart. You said: “Your eye is the lamp of your body. If your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but if it is unhealthy, your body is full of darkness. Therefore consider whether the light in you is not darkness. But if your whole body is full of light, with no part of it in darkness, it will be as full of light as when a lamp gives you light with its rays” (Luke 11:34-36). Your eyes reveal Your heart, as well. In Your heart, there is no darkness. Your heart is full of light. It’s a fiery light full of Your light, full of Your glory, full of Your love. And one day soon we will see You coming again in Your glory, with that fiery light of Your glory Your shining in Your eyes for all the world to see! “Then I saw heaven opened, and there was a white horse! Its rider is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems, and He has a name inscribed that no one knows but Himself. He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies of heaven, wearing fine linen, white and pure, were following Him on white horses. From His mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a scepter of iron; He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On His robe and on His thigh He has a name inscribed, ‘King of kings and Lord of lords’” (Revelation 19:11-16). O King of kings and Lord of lords, let the Fire in Your eyes pierce my heart today! Burn out of me all that is not yet like You! Word of God, full of the Spirit of God, full of the Light of the Glory of God, “judge and make war” with everything in my flesh today that would oppose Your Spirit on that day, that I can be full of joy on that glorious day to come! Let Your fiery eyes -- full of light, full of glory, full of love -- find a true heart in me! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
