Morning by Morning, June 27 - Choose Life Each Day Good morning, Lord Jesus. You are the Way and the Truth and the Life (John 14:6). So lead me in Your way, speak into me with Your truth, and give me the grace to embrace Your life, as I entrust my life and this day to You. ... “And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God” (1 John 5:11-13). Your name is Life. Your Spirit is Life. And there is Life in no one but You. “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). “No one comes to the Father except through (You)” (John 14:6b). This is the reason You came into our world and into my heart -- “that (we) may have life, and that (we) may have it more abundantly” in You (John 10:10). “The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life” (Job 33:4). “For the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:2). Just as You given me life, You’ve also given me Your Spirit -- the Spirit of Life who now lives in me. “If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in (me), He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to (my) mortal body also through His Spirit who dwells in me” (Romans 8:11). “He who has an ear, let him hear! (says the Lord) ... To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God” (Revelation 2:7). By the mercy of Your grace, I do choose to eat from the Tree of Life today. I choose to drink deeply of Your “Living Water” (John 4:10) and of the “pure river of (the) water of life” (Revelation 22:1). I choose to embrace Your Spirit of Life, Your Words of Spirit and Life, and Your Way of Spirit and Life today (John 6:63). You set before me this day and every day, before me and every one of us blessing or curse, death or Life (Deuteronomy 30:19). And I choose Life. As the Prophet Isaiah declared of You and Your coming into our world, “O Lord, by these things men live; and in all these things is the life of my spirit; so You will restore me and make me live!” (Isaiah 38:16) In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
