Good to Belong - June 26, 2028

 

Morning by Morning, June 26 - Good to Belong   Good morning, Lord Jesus. I turn to You to begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with Your Holy Spirit. ...   “Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit” (Ephesians 2:19-22).   In You, we’re citizens of the kingdom, companions on the journey, the construction of something You began when You set Yourself as the chief cornerstone of all You’re building up in each one of us. Our hearts are now Your home; our lives are now where You display Your glory, as Your glory comes and fills the temples of our souls.   As The Message expresses it:   “That’s plain enough, isn’t it? You’re no longer wandering exiles. This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You’re no longer strangers or outsiders. You here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone. God is building a home. He’s using us all--irrespective of how we got here--in what He is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now He’s using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. We see it taking shape day after day--a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a temple in which God is quite at home.”   It’s good to belong. It’s good to be a part of what You’re building--“brick by brick, stone by stone,” moment by moment and morning by morning. It’s good to be home in You and to know You are at home in me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today.
