“Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last” - June 15, 2023

 

Morning by Morning, June 15 - “Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last”   Good morning, Lord Jesus. “Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last,” I want to begin and end my day thinking of You and entrusting my day to You (Revelation 22:13). ...   As I listen for Your first words to me this morning, what comes to mind are Your last Words in the Bible:   “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.   “Blessed those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.   “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star” (Revelation 22:12-16)   As John heard and wrote down Your Words of Revelation, he responded with all his heart:   “And the Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ And let him who hears say, ‘Come!’ And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.... Even so, come, Lord Jesus! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with (us) all. Amen” (v. 17-21).   With all my heart -- as best as I can and all by Your grace -- I say, Come! Even so, come, Lord Jesus!   Come into my heart and every moment of my day. Come give me Your heart and Your desires. Anoint me and empower me to honor You for the work of Your kingdom You entrust to me, to do Your commandments You set before me, to enter through the gates into all You have prepared for me.   I set my sights to guide my journey through this day and every day on “the Bright and Morning Star” of Your Presence before me and abiding within me. By Your grace, I set my heart to hear and thirst, to trust and obey, to seek and follow -- from beginning to end and all along the way. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Be encouraged today.
