Be Silent and Behold the Cross 4-6-07

Good morning, Lord Jesus. This is Good Friday -- good for heaven, bad for hell; good for me, bad for the enemy of my soul. ... "Looking to Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of God" (Hebrews 12:2). On the day of the cross, I look to You, Lord Jesus. As humbly as I can and with as much gratitude as I can have, I thank You for enduring it's shame, with all the humiliation and sacrifice it represents, far beyond my human capacity to comprehend. I believe by faith You endured it for me -- "for the sake of the joy" that one day I would bow humbly before You and thank You for Your eternal sacrifice of unfailing love for me. Words are not enough. So in this moment, I will not try to speak any more words. I will be silent and behold the cross. ... In Jesus' name I pray, Amen. Be encouraged today!
